Yu Morisawa is an innocent and lively 10-year-old girl who lives in Kurimigaoka. One day, Yu encounters the magical Feather Star ark, a spaceship that has been lost in a dream storm. She meets Pinopino, a fairy living aboard the ark, who gives her a magical wand which allows her to transform into a 16-year-old girl, for an entire year. Yu is also accompanied by two talking cats, Posi and Nega, who are supposed to watch over her while she has the wand. While having fun walking around town in her transformed 16-year-old state, she catches the attention of Shingo Tachibana, the president of an entertainment company. After being half-forcibly scouted and pushed on stage, her debut as a singer is a success, and the idol Creamy Mami is born. Now Yu must lead a double life, being an elementary school student by day, and a famous idol after.
